How to use Merge PDF
- 1 Select or drop your PDF documents into the file dropzone.
- 2 Reorder your documents into your preferred sequence using the Move Up and Move Down buttons in the queue list.
- 3 Click "Merge PDF Files" to assemble the pages directly in your browser memory.
- 4 Download your consolidated PDF file immediately without watermarks or quality degradation.
What it does — and what it doesn't
Uses client-side WebAssembly and modern PDF object stream parsing via @cantoo/pdf-lib. Each input document is loaded into an in-memory ArrayBuffer where page trees and resource dictionaries (fonts, vector paths, embedded graphics) are copied into a newly constructed target document catalog. The consolidated document is serialized into a downloadable Blob with zero network transmission.
Limits and browser boundaries
- Encrypted documents: password-protected or encrypted PDFs cannot be assembled without prior decryption and trigger an explicit informative notice.
- Memory limit safeguard: very large document batches exceeding 150 MB total input trigger an in-browser warning to prevent mobile browser memory pressure.
- AcroForm flattening: standard form fields and vector pages are merged cleanly; interactive form field names with duplicate keys are unified within the page tree.
Verified Test Lab Measurements

Client-Side Privacy Proof
All computation executes strictly inside your device CPU and GPU memory. Your file bytes, photos, and document text are never uploaded or transmitted to any server.
Verify it yourself in 5 seconds:
- Press F12 (or right click → Inspect) and switch to the Network tab.
- Drop your file into the tool above and click process.
- Confirm that zero outbound requests or file payloads leave your computer.
Frequently asked questions
Are my private PDF documents uploaded to a remote server?
No. All document parsing, page copying, and file assembly occur entirely inside your web browser. You can verify in your browser DevTools Network tab that zero document bytes or text content are ever sent to external servers.
Can I reorder the PDF files before merging them?
Yes. Once you add your files, the Document Order list displays each file in sequence. You can click the Up and Down arrow buttons next to any document to arrange the exact page sequence before generating the final file.
What happens if one of my PDF files is password-protected or encrypted?
If an encrypted or password-protected PDF is encountered, the tool displays an explicit error message specifying which file is locked. To protect document security, encrypted files must be unlocked prior to merging.
Is there a limit on file size, page count, or number of documents?
There are no artificial paywalls, daily usage quotas, or file count caps. Merging is constrained only by your device available memory and processing power.
Does merging PDFs reduce text sharpness or compress embedded images?
No. Page trees and original vector graphics, font tables, and embedded bitmap streams are copied without recompressing or altering image quality. In our verified test lab, combining a 2-page document (780 B) and a 1-page document (679 B) produced an 880 B unified 3-page PDF with identical vector sharpness and zero degradation.
